Vegas Trip... I'm back, well actually I returned Thursday evening. I figured I would do a "mega post." Let's start from the beginning. First of all, it's been awhile since I have flown on an airplane, so long, that I seemed to have a tendency to forget my boarding pass. When I arrived at the airport, checked my baggage, I left my ticket at the counter only to realize that baggage claim stickers weren't going to pass for a boarding pass, especially with the TSA. That was only the beginning of my boarding pass issues. I would later leave it on a Delta golf cart, while trying to re-pack some items into my backpack. I arrived in Vegas, it was instantly warmer than Salt Lake, which was a huge welcome.
We arrived at the Wynn with just enough time to check-in and get ready for the night's Welcome/Cocktail get together. I was assigned to the room 3922 on the golf course side. All I can say is "WOW!!" My room was absolutely perfect (floor to ceiling views of a green golf course, electronically controlled drapes, 2 HDTVs, slippers & robe, iPod connections, bedtime chocolates, soaking bubble baths, King bed with deluxe sheets and pillows). The evening's party was filled with laughing at the drunks and trying to decipher what it is that they are trying to say, all while I sip on my Fiji water.
The next day was spent in various trainings from carriers, somehow in it all I got assigned to supervise anything computer related (videos, powerpoints, etc.) In the end, it would be my downfall and a cause for a migraine that evening (I am sure the early morning Red Bull didn't help either). Wednesday was much of the same type of presentations, but they ended earlier and allowed for sometime by the pool, again watching people get drunk. I have to wonder whether or not people learn anything in that state of mind. Well, whatever. I also walked away with as much free stuff I could scrounge around for. I think I get a good 5lbs of chocolate. That evening, I basically botched the award/video presentation, but what can you expect when you get a crash training course a few minutes before it starts. The night was spent around the casino at penny slots, a big spinning wheel, and Blackjack. I am not good at any of them, but they give you free drinks anyway. Don't worry, just Coke for me. Good thing, i got to sleep in on Thursday it was needed and I got to sneak in one more soaking tub before my departure from the Wynn and Las Vegas.
After an enjoyable short flight and picking up 6 Cinnabons (it's the only place you can get them), we were notified that there was a problem with the baggage belts in the Las Vegas airport and our luggage didn't make it on the flight...... ANNOYING!!! We stood in a line for an hour, finally got home, but had to wait till 11:30 to get my bags. That's that.... I am sure I am missing something, but what can you do.
