Impulse Purchase... Today, I went to Office Depot and made a semi-impulse purchase. If you have read my blog before, you know that I don't take spending money lightly. However, I found a great deal on a great computer and decided to go for it. Like most things that I am quick to decide on, this one didn't really go in my favor. After arriving home, I discovered that the computer I just bought had already been used. GRRR!!! stupid Office Depot. I have numerous Office Depot stories, I am not really sure what keeps me going back to that place...

Lame Jokes... I found an old book of jokes and riddles. I thought you would like a laugh from a knock-knock joke that still doesn't make a whole lot of sense. So, is the frog referring to a Yamaha-brand item? I don't know... and it most certainly is not funny. The poor child that has to read this and think it is funny. IF by chance you get the joke, feel free to leave a comment of your thoughts.

Doodles... I love to doodle. If there is a piece of paper and a good pen in front of me, I will doodle. It's amazing to me that I ever pay attention in meetings at work. I used a Pilot G-2 red pen for these doodles. For more fun, say doodle 5 times fast "Doodle, doodle, doodle, doodle...." I couldn't do it.

Blank... My mind is drawing a blank today. I have no agenda and no opinions on the day. Hmm.. I am not sure that is entirely true, because I am upset that Mitt Romney is endorsing that lame fool McCain for President. It's about as thoughtless as this here scan. This scan could also be looked upon as a representation of all the current presidential candidates mind's. OR it represent my current political party affiliation. I have none. Well, that's all I have to say about that.

Counting Cards... So, I saw the movie 21 tonight. It was a good movie. Since it was one of those free previews, they made us go through more security than you would to fly on a commercial airplane. Anyways, the movie really got me thinking that anyone could count cards. I am serious, in some sense they made it seem really easy. I think I could do it (not really). The consequences, on the other hand, come off as not so easy. I recommend seeing this flick, but beware of the lull of "Winner, winner... Chicken Dinner."

Sleep...I don't think I have done a post on sleep yet. What a shame. Sleep is pretty much the best part of any day. There are some days when I wake up and all I can look forward to is sleep. Is that odd? Does that come off as kind of depression-ish? It really shouldn't, it just means that I put all I have into my day's work, and therefore I am legitimately tired. Anyway, I know more people agree with me than disagree with me...they just may not admit to it.

The Vamp Strikes!... Ok, so you are probably wondering what this is a scan of. Well, I needed something related to basketball. So, I set a plastic basketball on the scanner and as the scanner light came down the glass, the ball began to move and this is what I came up with. Kind of seemed appropriate since I wasn't able to go to the Jazz game tonight. My spot was taken by a vamp... actually THEEEE vamp. I don't mind. I am sure the night was full of interesting stories and experiences that I can't wait to hear about.

Britney Spears on "How I Met Your Mother"... Well, She didn't exactly fail tonight. I just think she was on the wrong show. I have never seen HIMYM and tonight was the first night. The show is just flat out lame! Having said that, Britney is looking better. One can only hope that she can continue to put her life back together... I guess that goes for everyone, we should all be trying to constantly improve ourselves LEARNING from our mistakes. So, in conclusion, it wasn't exactly a comeback, but it wasn't a bad effort either.

Vamp(ire) Fever... What is the deal with all of the vampire fever that seems to be permeating my entire family. What is it about these books that makes everyone want to go on a vampire hunt. I even have a brother in law reading these books now. I probably won't venture into vampire land (it's a fiction novel). Apparently, it's going to be a movie in the next year. My sister and her friends rate people (specifically boys) on their vampire status. Friends and family refer to the books as though they are real... It's the new General Hospital.

Chocolate Marshmallow Eggs...I know the easter bunny is weird, and i know the pagan version of easter is just flat out strange.......BUT, I love Chocolate Marshmallow Eggs. They are best left out over night so that they are chewy... and they become absolute heaven. I suggest everyone go buy a package the day after the easter, they are bound to be on sale for dirt cheap prices. You won't be disappointed, unless of course you don't like chocolate or marshmallows.

Cards...The birthday wishes keep pouring in. These two are probably some of the more important ones. They come from Brenton (top) and Kylee (bottom). Brenton told me it is a picture of me defeating him. He informed me that this was only able to happen because it was my birthday. I was very appreciative of his gesture. I guess the violent nature of the card is ok, because we are both smiling. Kylee is getting better and better at her penmanship and as long as you tell her the letters she will write it. She wished me a happy birthday. By the way that's me on the left and her on the right.

It's My Birthday... Because it is my birthday, I can break all the rules. These aren't scans and I am admitting it. But, it's my birthday. A co-worker bought me a breakfast buritto, because it's my birthday. They also took me to lunch.... I drank too much Coke.... got Winger's stomach... but, it's my birthday. They decorated my desk and got me some pie, because it's my birthday. I blew out all of my candles and tried to eat the frozen pie, because its my birthday. I went with my sister's to get a pedicure (it was my first and probably my last)..... because, it's my birthday. I got a toaster oven and domino's pizza.... because it's my birthday. I had a good day and enjoyed all of the birthday wishes.... Thanks!

Baby Pic... Tomorrow is my birthday. I found this baby pic that was taken in my first year of life. I was about 5 months old. It was taken in Oregon. I had no idea that I had been to Oregon. How odd it is to be that small and now be 6'6''.... What a difference a couple dozen birthday's make.

Chapstick... It's days like today when I am thankful for inventions such as chapstick. My lips were dry and they needed moisture. I am not terribly particular about the brand that I use, but I am a huge fan of Natural Ice. I like the cooling feeling it leaves on the lips.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!! That is a green bagel. It's not moldy, but it certainly looks like it (sorry, if it brings thoughts of something else). I am not sure I understand the significance of the odd traditions of St. Patrick's Day. The pinching. The green. The shamrocks. Etc. Well, whatever the significance, I hope you all wore your green and if you didn't ... you should be pinched!

Wedding Announcements... I have been saving/stealing odd wedding announcements. I wanted to make a blog devoted to the good, bad and the ugly. I figure a scan every once in awhile will suffice. I don't know what happens in your family when an announcement arrives, but at our house, it becomes a major critique. Words can't really describe how strange this announcement is to me. I mean, come on!!! The suckers? What is he looking at in that bottom right photo? Did she have to wear the same color as her background and photo trim?

Change... See this scan? It's 5 pennies... not 1 nickel. Last night, to make a purchase, I used cash. I rarely use cash... but, I did. This is the reason I never use cash. My wallet bulges and bulges until I finally empty my change into a bucket. What good do coins do in a bucket? Nothing. In fact, if anything they loose their value. My bucket is almost full. Time to head to the coinstar where I will empty my bucket, pay the fee and get more cash.... It's a cruel, cruel cycle.

Gum... Gotta love it! Actually, I hate Big Red, but it's the only pack of gum I could find. I like gum. My limits to chewing one piece of gum is approx. 43 minutes. My jaw begins to get tired and the old piece of gum begins to dry out my mouth and this in turn begins to defeat the purpose of chewing in the first place. You know what gum I haven't had in awhile? Bubble Tape and Big League Chew. I could never really get those as a kid, because they were always the most expensive and when you are living on whatever-you-can-find-in-the-couch kind of a budget... You have to settle on whatever was in your mom's purse. My mom always had trident or dentyne and any other gum in that small rectangular shape. Chew on that for awhile.

Stop?... People often ask me if I will ever stop this blog (and by often, I mean I have been asked 3 maybe 4 times). They also ask me what will happen if I miss a day. I don't really plan on stopping and as long as I am near a scanner and there is something to to scan and blog about, I will continue. I am not sure it would be such a tragedy if I missed a day. Would anyone even notice? Admitedly (sp?), some of my scans are better than others, some have more meaning and some just turn out to be a better scan than others. I have to say, it's been fun to look back at all of my different scans and see what I have scanned. And yes, everything that I have posted has been scanned on my scanner. Here's to more scans!

Socks... Today, the weather was warm enough for me to go barefoot outside. I love being barefoot, and I really don't like socks. I love daylight savings and I look forward to longer nights. My feet can finally breathe!!! I hope I don't jinx the weather with my love for warmer times.

Empty Kleenex/Defective Wheat Thin... I am getting tired of Molly blowing her nose. You can hear it from a mile away and she does it for a good 28 min at a time. Also, when someone else is sick, I begin to get nervous that I am also getting sick. However, Molly did find this defective wheat thin. It is 4 Wheat Thins that still need to be cut. I think I should call Nabisco, but I am too tired.

Linzi... Today is my oldest friend's birthday... by oldest I mean I have known her longer than any of my other friends. We were next door neighbors. I have known her since I was 3 and we have shared the month of March for our birthday's. Linzi is an awesome person. She is studying to be a teacher and I know she will be a great teacher, because she puts her heart into everything she does and her heart is always in the right place. She faces life with such class. I am lucky to know someone like Linzi and I am even luckier that she puts up with a friend like me. HAPPY BIRTHDAY LINZI !!!
P.S. Check out Linzi's Blog http://lpettey.blogspot.com/

Haircut... I gotta haircut today. I love getting haircuts. If it's short enough, I don't have to comb my hair for at least a week. Plus, it always looks the same, so no styling, no gel, no mess!! In case you were wondering, these are not the scissors used to give me a haircut.

Easter Bunny... As I was eating my Cinnamon Toast Crunch today, I saw this scary picture of the Easter Bunny and it looks to me as though the easter bunny is going to eat this poor child. What makes this pic so significant is the fact that my sister also pointed out its scariness and a co-worker mentioned that it should be a scan of the day. Well, here it is.... In all of its spookiness. This should bring up the topic of the easter bunny. I remember a neighbor friend told me (when were younger) that she had seen a three-eared easter bunny in her basement the night before Easter... From that day forward I knew there was something not right about the easter bunny. What does the easter bunny stand for? or signify? and why does he/she hide eggs? Why do the hollow chocolate one's taste like wax?

My Neck... My neck currently has quite the kink in it. IT hurts and the only relief I am getting is when I put my head straight down. But, this position makes it pretty much impossible to do anything else. I try my best to avoid taking the meds... I gave in, though. Hopefully, the ibuprofen will allow me to hold up my head with some sort of relief. Maybe my neck needs a rest. After all, I have been holding it up for more than 20 years!!!

Digital Television... I hope everyone is aware that unless they have Cable, Satellite, or an HDTV, they will not be able to pick up a regular off-the-air signal in 2009. The government is currently offering a $40 coupon towards the purchase of a converter box. This box will allow you to continue recieving the local TV stations signals (off the air) on an older television. I received my 2 coupons yesterday. Once the coupons are gone... They are gone. Your taxes are paying for this, so you might as well take advantage of this opportunity. Visit http://www.dtv2009.gov for more info.

Savings Cards... What is the deal with savings cards? When the cashier tells me the amount of money I saved by using my preferred card, I want to laugh. If the store can actually afford to give me these "savings". They can certainly afford to give it to everyone. I feel bad for the poor sap that hasn't taken the time to fill ou their information and therefore doesn't get these "exclusive savings." It just doesn't make sense.... MARKETING. Well, marketing or not, it is annoying. And now, the grocery store knows everything I buy and probably passes that information on to Big Brother.

Words... I love words. I like to pretend like I know lots of words. Sometimes I use big words, and I am not even sure what they mean or if I am using them in the correct context. It's not really to impress, I just find it fun. It's what makes our language so cool. A friend gave me a word of the day calendar. Gosh! What's with me and calendars? Anyway, I challenge all of you to use today's word at least once in the next week. You even have my permission to use it correctly or incorrectly.

Hillary... Someone in my family received a "Countdown to Victory" calendar for a white elephant. It really is a silly calendar. I don't care for Hillary or her politics... In fact, I now no longer care for any presidential candidates politics. Anyway, the point of this post isn't to discuss politics... It's to take a closer look at this calendar. Keep in mind this is a candidate for the President of the United States of America.... BUT, take a look at the last line on my scan. That's right, it says "Printed in Canada." For whatever reason, this strikes me as funny and slightly ironic. I wonder if Hillary endorses this calendar??

EMRC... Tonight, I went to dinner with an old friend that I used to work with at East Millcreek Recreation Center. It's funny how you can spend so much time with a person and then not talk for 2 years and meet again as though it was all just yesterday. We were able to share memories as though they had just happened and reflect on what we learned and laugh at all the times that put us in funny situations. We worked with children, so you can imagine all of the crazy stories we could remember. Ahhh...memories.
